Transfix Hits the Mainstage

Transfix kept the road hot during the months of May and June. From Northwest Arkansas to Davos, Switzerland, members of our executive team were invited to lead roundtable discussions, panels, and fireside chats with customers and leaders across industries. Regardless of the setting, our aim was the same: to illustrate our vision of a world where goods move seamlessly, sustainably, and with trust. We want to equip carriers and shippers with the data and tools they need to thrive in volatility and achieve operational resilience in any market

Beyond shaking hands and engaging in transparent conversations about today’s supply chain bottlenecks, Transfix also took the opportunity to give back and have some fun.

FreightWaves Future of Supply Chain in Northwest Arkansas: May 9-10, 2022

If you were at the FreightWaves Future of Supply Chain, perhaps you remember eating the “Long Haul Lavender” ice cream from Simple + Sweet, an ice cream truck that donates 50% of profits to the Arkansas Food Bank. Thanks to a serendipitous viewing of Good Morning America, Patrick Blute, our director of brand and sustainability, helped turn event catering fees into meals for 5,000 families in Northwest Arkansas.

Also at Future of Supply Chain, our founder and CTO Jonathan Salama live-demoed Transfix’s newest beta program for freight procurement. This tool is a more flexible alternative to 12-month RFPs in that it can accelerate shippers’ procurement processes, lower costs, and connect them with reliable coverage. Salama later sat down with FreightWaves’ Kevin Hill to explain how Transfix’s technology and team of experts connect shippers to more than 28,000 carriers.

“The RFP process is broken,” Salama said during the demo. “It has clear flaws and feeds into a broken supply chain. We’re reimagining the way a shipper sources capacity and we’re modernizing the procurement process.”

World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland: May 22-26, 2022

Each year, The World Economic Forum (WEF) engages the planet’s foremost business, political, and cultural leaders. Our CEO and President, Lily Shen, had the honor of being invited to present on the topic “Working Together and Restoring Trust.” She tackled issues our industry faces daily, including the power of far-reaching partnerships to ensure supply chain strength and resilience. Transfix was recently admitted to WEF’s Global Innovators Community, and is investing in our Road Freight Zero Initiative efforts to underline our commitment to shared partnership goals.

Gartner Supply Chain Symposium in Orlando, Florida: June 6-8, 2022

In early June, research giant Gartner brought together supply chain executives across the globe, covering topics from “sustainability leadership” to “future-proofing with emerging tech.” Our VP of Shipper Growth Jennifer Mosso co-led a roundtable discussion with longtime partner John Schilli, Director of Transportation at Henkel. The talk centered on the question, “Why Data Should Drive Supply Chain Decisions,” and attracted active participants from NASA, Cisco, and Gilead Science, among others.

Meanwhile, our team at the booth was orchestrating a Purpose. Driven. drawing, in which attendees could vote to determine which of our shortlisted charities would receive our daily donations. Combining the participation of online and in-person votes, $1K was donated to Truckers Against Trafficking; $1K went to onePULSE Foundation; and $1,500 was awarded to National Minority Women Association In Transportation, Inc.

National Retail Federation Supply Chain 360 in Cleveland, Ohio: June 20-21, 2022

At NRF’s inaugural supply chain event, Lily took to the main stage again to interview Charles Chambers, Director of North American Logistics at Floor & Decor – one of Transfix’s first enterprise customers.

“Transfix has been an excellent partner,” Chambers said to Shen on stage. “Mike Ghebrehiwet has provided us with data that allows us to sync like lanes and like customers. This allows us to share capacity, use what’s there, and grow.”

To celebrate Pride Month, Shelle Lichti, founder of LGBT Truckers, parked her kaleidoscopic Freightliner outside the convention center, creating a colorful photo opportunity for convention-goers and passersby alike.

Stay tuned to learn where the Transfix team is headed next! Until then, subscribe to our Weekly Market Update, where our team of experts keeps shippers and carriers informed on the latest bottlenecks and economic trends.
