Transfix Announces Next Chapter

Today, we announced two big pieces of news for Transfix:

1) NFI, a leading end-to-end supply chain solutions provider and industry powerhouse, has acquired our freight brokerage business. And  2) Transfix is repositioning its core business to solely focus on powerful software and data solutions for brokers, shippers, and carriers.

These exciting and transformational decisions were fueled by two key considerations:

First. There comes a time in every company’s journey when it is at an inflection point. For us, both opportunity and possibility presented themselves, the timing was right, and the optimal next chapter for our people and  products became clear. 

Second. For ten years, Transfix has been building and optimizing a technology and data platform that has not only addressed the challenges of the industry in real-time, but with a level of sophistication and firsthand experience that, we believe, is unmatched in this sector. 

We are very excited about our path forward.

NFI is a natural and ideal new home for our brokerage business. Not only was NFI impressed with our incredible team members, service metrics, and robust book of business, but they also have the infrastructure, industry positioning, and momentum to accelerate growth. Our people and our customers will be in excellent hands at NFI. They are excited to welcome many of our Transfixers aboard, and I will be cheering them on from the sidelines.

Finding a home for our brokerage gave us an incredible opportunity to open up all the innovation we’ve created and offer it in a more meaningful way to our freight brokerage peers. Our features and models, plus our deep insights and analyses - the products and tools that have fueled our business - our suite of offerings will serve all parties involved in the movement of goods, including brokers, shippers, and carriers - and that’s the future of Transfix. In fact, NFI will become the first “customer” of our SaaS offering, continuing to use our platform in its new home. This new evolution of Transfix is poised for growth, acceleration, and innovation.
